When does the Rafale fighter jets agreement sign?

In September 2016, India and France signed an agreement with Dassault Airlines. This agreement allows us to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets. The total value is Rs. 59,000 crore.

The essence of the agreement is to ship at the rate of 12 planes per year. Of these 36 attack planes, 6 were training plane. They will have all the features of being on other planes. The agreement stipulates that at the end of 2021, all 36 planes must get delivered.

How many Rafale jets are arriving in India today?

The production of the first 10 planes is complete. Thus Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh left for France to pay homage to the plane. Of these, 5 planes will be in France for training. Yesterday the remaining 5 flights started their journey from Paris to India.

Do you know about Rafale fighter jets?

Rafale jets can fill its fuel in the mid-air itself its an extra advantage.

Why Rafale is likely to get called as asuran for other countries?

Before the arrival of Rafale, India only got mirage 2000 and jaguar jets. Yet these two jets don't have advanced features.

And it is the right time to upgrade our country's defense strength. The rafale has twin-engine and is a two-seater. Its multi-role capabilities can tackle china's J-20 jets. The features of Rafale are equal to  America's F-22 raptor and can tackle Pakistan's F-16 jets too.

The Rafale plane has the greatest speed of 2,450 km / h. The highlight of the Rafale fighter jets is that they can escape from the enemy country's radars. Rafale fighter jets with full fuel tank and loaded combat weapons can travel up to 3,200-3,700 km.

This includes air-to-air missiles. Also, missiles hit targets from a distance of 120 km, and a distance of 600 km from the sky. Thus, we can attack the enemy country without even crossing our borders.

Hummer missiles -extra strength to Rafale. Fitting Hummer missiles will further strengthen the Rafale plane in this situation.

The French Air Force and Navy use the Hummer missiles. Hummer missiles are capable of hitting a target on the ground from the sky at a distance of 60-70 km.

The journey of Rafale fighter jets from France to Ambala airbase in India

Having started its journey the planes are currently in the United Arab Emirates. Indian Air Force officers trained to operate the plane will arrive in India today.

Rafale jets are to get attached to the Ambala Air Force Base located in Haryana. These five planes must have arrived in India by May. But, it did not come due to the coronavirus issue.

What is the situation of the Indian Air Force?

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is facing a massive problem of depleting squadron strength. Its fleet has reduced to approximately 30-32 squadrons.

IAF wants at least 42 squadrons of fighters to be able to fight a two-front war. The largest number of fighters IAF ever had was around 39 squadrons in the early 1990s.

The squadron strength has been falling ever since. The Russian fighters MiG-27 and the MiG-21 are one of the oldest in the IAF inventory. And many of these planes are likely to get phased out in the next 5 years.

Some 120-odd MiG-21s continue to be in service. These will get retired in phases till 2021-2022. The IAF will phase out nine squadrons of the MiG-21 and 2 MiG-27 over the next 5 years. so we need some advanced jets the here comes Rafale.

Why India needs Rafale?

Rafale is more advanced than any fighters that IAF has. Rafale is a 4.5 generation plane. The Mirage 2000 and the Su-30 MkI which IAF uses are third or fourth-generation fighters
